Season 8 - New Sponsors

After a lot of work behind the scenes over the past few weeks, we are pleased to announce that Season 8 will begin on Monday 27th July.

We are very excited to reveal that we have a new title sponsor - FreeM UK

FreeM is a globally recognised bespoke racewear and teamwear brand who provide CIK, FIA & SFI approved FreeM products to the karting and motorsport world. They are now expanding their product line turning their eye to the world of Esports, specifically sim racing. Jonathan, CEO of FreeM UK had this to say about the series:

“All at FreeM UK are incredibly honoured to be supporting the 8th season of The World GT Championship - it’s an event we’ve long been passionate about and it’s fantastic to see how it’s evolved over the past 3 years. It’s also incredible to witness the increasing recognition that eSports is currently generating. We hope this momentum of awareness and enthusiasm continues to increase and with it brings even greater success for the WGTC, offering more and more of the world’s most talented race drivers the ability to showcase their incredible talent. Good luck for the season guys, all at FreeM UK will be following each and every lap!”

FreeM UK will be providing some amazing prizes for all 3 race categories (Pro, Pro-AM & AM) so lots for everyone on the grid to race for this coming season. They will also be providing a WGTC discount code for general purchases which can be obtained from our discord.

We would also like to thank our other partners Puresims and Simmortal model for their continued support of the series. Puresims have agreed to provide a WGTC discount code and Simmortal will be providing a scaled replica model of this seasons car for the safest driver of the season (keep those incident points down!)

For season 8 we say farewell to APEX Racing TV. We would like to say thank you to Alex, Andrew, Adam, Samuli and Sam for their coverage over the previous 6 seasons and wish them success in their future endeavours.

We are delighted to announce that RACESPOT will be our new broadcaster. A familiar WGTC face, Paul Smith is our appointed Race and Content Director and will be working behind the scenes with his team to produce some fantastic content for the broadcast which will again be shown via the iRacing Esport network.
